for a while now, i've been struggling with how to handle this journal.

i've come to a decision.

i'm posting most of my public face over at my art blog anyway... i might as well send everyone over there for most of the everyday stuff.

this journal will now be reserved for private posts i want to share with just a few friends. i have pared down my friends list a LOT. i have only kept a vary few people who i want to share with.

if i unfriended you, don't feel like it means i don't like you. it just means that there are some things i'm not comfortable sharing with you... most likely because we don't know each other well enough. please come over and read my art journal and keep in touch!

i just added a couple of pysanky ornaments to my etsy store the proceeds of which will go to moderngypsy (aka Miss Violet)'s "Insurance Sucks Fund". if you have been keeping up with her, you will realize that she has just found a lump in her breast and that her insurance has a HUGE deductible.... which resets in Jan. we want her to get in ASAP and get this checked out... so...



each ornament is a real egg. it has been blown and dyed with a traditional Ukrainian wax resist method. the dyed surface has been sealed with a coat of polyurethane. a gold tone hanger has been added at the top.

my secret santa package is going into the mail today! here's a sneak peek...

yes, the ornaments aren't wrapped...the large package is wrapped in some fun fabric i hope they'll be able to use in art. the small package has a J on it for the person recieving it (yes, that's a hint... but not too big of one. there are a lot of J names) and a little crysannthmum cane polymer clay heart charm that i hope will be repurposed.

i've been working on projects for paul's birthday. one of them is my first Linocut block print. here's my first finished print with the block. if you want to read more about it or see the carving process, click on over to flickr...

the sunset was so beautiful the other day when i took this. it was misty/foggy and the sun was spearing through the treeline on the horizon on the other side of the valley. the sun reflecting off the sikh temple on the hill is always stunning.

I decided to climb the hill behind our place the other day and explore a bit. I had the foresight to bring the camera and snapped this shot of out back balcony. you can see our little garden.

This is a friend's only journal. This journal is a mish-mash of all my life, including my art... But it also includes a lot of my private side which I prefer to keep locked to the general public.
